PS-3238 Wireless Geiger Counter

PS-3238 Wireless Geiger Counter

Product Description

PASCO Wireless Geiger Counters count beta, gamma, and alpha radiation particles as they enter the
Geiger-Mueller detector tube inside the counter. Designed for easy installation, the Geiger
Counter provides precise position control in an inverse square law lab, as well as an audible beep
indicating the detection of ionizing radiation. The front plastic nozzle conveniently fits inside
a NU-3344 sample holder (sold separately).

With the Wireless Geiger Counter, students can wirelessly control the high voltage of the Geiger-
Mueller tube inside the counter, enabling them to measure counts/intervals for different tube
voltages. They can also plot counts/intervals versus tube voltage to experimentally observe the
Geiger Plateau characteristics of the tube.

Features

Built-in metal mesh screen to protect precision mica window at front of Geiger-Mueller detector
tube

Easy-to-turn-on or -off audible beep count indication

Multiple positioning options: in NU-3344 sample holder, handheld, or mounted on a pole stand

Convenient design fits PASCO NU-3344 sample holder

Provides wireless control of high voltage of Geiger-Mueller tube inside counter for Geiger-Mueller
experiments
